Hello! My name’s Yunah and I am a recent addition to the drama scholars.

Having helped out with this year’s school production of Ill Met By Moonlight, I was moved by how quickly I created bonds with the younger years - leading me to want to become a drama scholar for the next two terms!

I’ve been a drama student for the 6 years I have been at Island School, and the skills I have developed include (but are not limited to) increased confidence, responsibility, organisation and collaboration.

The drama community is one of the main reasons as to why I love theatre, and I’m so happy to be a part of the drama scholars team to further develop my bonds within this amazing group of people!!

Hi! I'm Natasha and I have been involved in the Island School drama department since Year 9. Having taken GCSE drama and several theatre-related elements courses, I am now taking IB Theatre Arts as well as being a Drama Scholar.

While I acted in Shockheaded Peter in 2016 and Dracula in 2017, I soon found that my real passion was in the production elements of theatre. Since Year 10, I have done the tech for numerous performances and, this year, helped to design the lighting for Ill Met By Moonlight.

I love being a part of all that goes on in the Drama department, from devising and rehearsing to the final tech runs. My involvement in theatre has provided me with skills in confidence, initiative and organisation, as well as many new friendships and wonderful memories!

Hi! My name is Theresa and I am a drama scholar. My role as a drama scholar involves helping with the year 7 and 8’s drama club, as well as helping out with the school production.

I found my love for drama in year 9, this had helped me choose what I wanted to do for GCSE, where I took drama. After GCSE I wanted to continue on this path so I chose to do Btec performing arts and IB Literature and performance. I have previously been in the school production of ‘The Northern Lights’ as the role Ma Costa.

She was Ben Gunn in the Faust production of Treasure Island in 2015.

As well as taking on the role of Katie in 2016 Faust Festival's "Totally Over You", and Akela – the Jungle leader in 2016 production of The Jungle Book. She has taken part in Faust Workshops for 4 years. As well as participating in ISTA festivals over the years. Her other passions include playing Rugby, playing and singing with the ukulele and hanging out with her family and friends.

Hello, my name is Shivank Kotkar.  I was always in the music department for 6 years which I love. But once I took BTEC Performing arts things have changed and that made me want to be a drama scholar. I had no experience in Drama but I chose it because it expresses on who I am and acting is what is deep inside of me as well as singing.

I have been recently been the character called bottom from Ill met by moonlight who is a goofy character and I have done a production called Alice in Wonderland. I also was in His Dark materials where I was part of the ensemble.  It gets really nervous before but once you perform you will have more fun.

I decided to be a drama scholar because Drama is who I am as a person. It has changed my life gaining more confidence and helping the kids who have difficulty in performing to a live audience. Being in the drama department will help you get so much in life and I am able to get the opportunity to meet new people and learn their perspective.
