IS Drama Scholars Programme

The Drama Scholars programme is a new initiative at Island School that creates a path for students who have shown exemplar work in the arts, particularly Drama.  Introduced in the summer of 2017, the objective is to give selected students the opportunity to take a larger leadership role within the school community through Drama.

Our current Scholars have key responsibilities in KS3 lessons, leading activities and workshops, as well as guiding younger students through their process journals, to continue with their exploration of and appreciation of different theatre practices.

Who are the 2018-19 Drama Scholars?

For our 2019 school production, Ill Met By Moonlight, the Scholars have taken on various responsibilities, including producing, directing, acting and other backstage roles.  This will prepare them for running our community project in Term 2 and the Scholars play in Term 3.

The year ends with a play directed, produced and performed by the whole team in the summer term. Stay tuned for more!
